Your role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Lead the architecture and technical direction of safety-critical embedded firmware for next-generation automotive systems, translating customer and system requirements into robust software solutions
- Analyz e stakeholders, system, and software requirements, driving requirements engineering, traceability, and architectural decision-making throughout the development lifecycle
- Define high-level software architectures and designs aligned with automotive standards, project objectives, and functional safety requirements
- Guide and support development teams during implementation, ensuring architectural compliance, technical quality, and effective collaboration across system, software, and integration teams
- Drive the integration of AUTOSAR-based operating systems and middleware, including the definition of Assumptions of Use (AoU) and operating system constraints for safety-relevant applications
- Lead technical risk assessments, design reviews, issue resolution, and contribute to software qualification, certification, and safety case activities
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 Functional Safety standards and support customer interactions, technical audits, and architecture-related discussions.

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
As a Lead Principal Architect Research and Development, you are open to new ideas and receptive to other ways of thinking or working. Furthermore, you remain aware of the big picture even in complex situations and take decisions despite uncertain circumstances. Lastly, you know and respect the values of the company and follow agreed processes and corporate rules.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably within the automotive industry
- At least 3 years of experience in software architecture and requirements engineering for automotive embedded systems, including requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability management
- Strong expertise in defining software architectures, firmware concepts, and high-level software designs, with experience overseeing implementation and ensuring architectural compliance
- Excellent programming skills in embedded C and solid knowledge of real-time operating systems, including scheduling, memory protection, and multicore architectures
- Hands-on experience with Functional Safety (ISO 26262), including safety-related software development, safety analyses, safety mechanisms, and software qualification or certification activities
- Good knowledge of AUTOSAR-based operating systems, embedded software platforms, Assumptions of Use (AoU), and ASPICE-compliant automotive software development processes
- Fluent English communication skills, with additional advantages including knowledge of automotive Ethernet and in-vehicle networking, ARM Cortex-R architectures, safety-certified RTOS, cybersecurity standards, secure software design principles, and ASPICE assessments
