About the role
Join Kerry's Biotechnology Centre in Leipzig as a Preclinical Research Senior Scientist, where you'll help discover and develop innovative functional ingredients that support human and companion animal health. Working with advanced preclinical models and cross-functional scientific teams, you'll design and execute research programmes, generate meaningful scientific insights, and contribute to the development of next-generation health solutions in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Utilise, internalise and develop preclinical models to discover and characterise new functional ingredients to positively impact human health
- Collaboratively develop and execute clear research project plans, analyse and interpret results using appropriate analysis tools and statistics
- Prepare scientific publications, protocols, technical project reports and presentations for stakeholders
- Provide scientific and technological support for laboratory projects as assigned/needed
- Participate in a culture of curiosity, continuous learning and original idea generation to drive the development of innovative solutions to support human and companion animal health
- Cross-functional collaboration with scientific teams in complementary business areas
Technical Expertise
- Required technical proficiency

- Traditional cell culture
- Organoid and 3D cell culture systems
- Flow cytometry
- Anaerobic bacterial culture
- Probiotic/postbiotic characterisation
Qualifications and skills
- Educational qualifications PhD in a biomedical sciences field, completed postdoctoral fellowship a plus
- Full professional proficiency in English and German
- Systems skills MS Office, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, experience with R, bioinformatics analysis a plus
- Experienced in good experimental design and accurate record keeping
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience to prepare professional scientific reports and articles
- Independent, self-starter, with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple unrelated projects and deliver milestones on aggressive timelines
