Are you ready to shape the future of cooperative robotics? Join us in Garching as a Mandatory Intern for Ultra-Low Latency sidelink where you'll push technological boundaries and turn your ideas into real-world impact!

You'll make an impact by

  • You support the integration and maintenance of communication links between mobile robots, ensuring smooth hardware interaction
  • Building on this, you help implement and fine-tune 5G-NR sidelink Mode 2 resource allocation algorithms to meet demanding ultra-low latency targets
  • Subsequently, you contribute to system development by combining hybrid simulation with real-world testing, working with both virtual agents and physical EDUARDS platforms
  • To ensure the highest standards, you assist in benchmarking the system’s performance, focusing on reliability and latency within the 5G-NR Sidelink framework
  • Throughout the internship, you maintain a clean and well-documented codebase on GitHub, supporting both internal and potential open-source projects

This is how you'll win us over

  • Education: You are currently enrolled in a degree program in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Strong interest in wireless communications and MAC layer technologies, particularly 5G-NR Sidelink/PC5
    • Solid programming skills in C++ for platform development and Python for analysis and scripting
    • Experience with Git/GitHub workflows (version control, pull requests, documentation), and familiarity with Linux and ROS/ROS2 is highly desirable
  • Ways of Working: You work independently, show initiative, and enjoy collaborating in an interdisciplinary, international team
  • Languages: Very good command of English
