Development Engineer Functions & Systems

We are looking for a motivated Development Engineer Functions & Systems to join our engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative mobility and energy solutions, participating in the complete systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition to integration, verification and validation.

You will work in multidisciplinary and international projects, collaborating with customers, suppliers and different engineering domains to develop state-of-the-art systems and technologies.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage system requirements, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and project objectives.
  • Define technical solutions and system architectures for complex products and systems.
  • Coordinate and support system integration, calibration, verification and validation activities throughout the development process.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Act as technical lead within a specific development domain or system development project.
  • Support the definition and execution of test plans, test cases and validation strategies.
  • Monitor test results, analyse deviations and support troubleshooting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, development processes and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including requirements, system descriptions, test cases and release documentation.
  • Contribute to project planning, milestone reviews and quality gate activities.
  • Perform performance analysis and optimization of vehicle and system functions.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies, systems engineering methodologies and development tools.

YOUR PROFILE:

Necessary:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and modern product development methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of at least one vehicle system, function or technology domain.
  • Basic knowledge of different vehicle systems and their interactions.
  • Understanding of in-vehicle communication networks.
  • Experience working with requirements engineering tools.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and development toolchains.
  • Good understanding of system lifecycle management and engineering work products.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Fluent English and Spanish, both written and spoken.

Valuable:

  • Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, energy or industrial systems development projects.
  • Knowledge of model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
  • Experience in verification, validation and testing activities.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • Additional languages, especially German or Spanish.
