Embedded Software Engineer
What You Will Do
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of embedded software solutions that form a key part of our innovative product portfolio. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will undertake standard software engineering assignments while contributing significantly to larger development projects. You will apply established engineering principles and techniques to solve technical challenges, support customers in maximising the performance of our solutions, and help deliver high-quality products that meet business and customer requirements. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers while continuing to develop your technical expertise in embedded systems and software development.

How You Will Do It
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications in line with project requirements.
- Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through to implementation and verification.
- Apply engineering techniques and best practices to solve technical problems and improve product performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and quality engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Support software integration, debugging, and troubleshooting activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks throughout project execution.
- Support customer requirements by providing technical recommendations and product-related expertise.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
What We Are Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in embedded software development.
- Experience developing software for embedded systems.
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and development methodologies.
- Experience debugging, testing, and validating embedded software.
- Ability to analyse technical issues and identify effective solutions.
- Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and deliver work to agreed deadlines.
Preferred:
- Experience working within a regulated or safety-critical environment.
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Familiarity with embedded communication protocols and interfaces.
- Experience with version control and continuous integration tools.
- Understanding of product development lifecycles and systems engineering principles.
