Your Job

You will carry out laboratory test procedures, build medical device test samples, and maintain accurate, compliant records that feed into reports and presentations. You’ll also take responsibility for the organisation, upkeep and administration of the laboratories and storage facilities, ensuring they run efficiently and safely.

Our Team

You’ll join a collaborative device development group working closely with internal engineering and quality teams, as well as external test partners, vendors and calibration companies. The environment is site‑based, with occasional travel. The team values precision, continuous improvement and reliable execution, alongside a positive outlook that contributes to an enjoyable and supportive working environment.

What You Will Do

  • Laboratory testing — Perform laboratory test procedures and build medical device test samples.
  • Record keeping — Maintain complete, accurate records and contribute to procedures, protocols and reports within the Quality Management System.
  • Equipment management — Operate, qualify, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment; keep the lab tidy and stocked with consumables.
  • Documentation — Write and review documentation and data generated by others for accuracy and compliance.
  • Storage oversight — Organise and maintain storage systems for components, devices, rigs and tested samples across on‑site and off‑site facilities.
  • Method development — Support method and process development and validation activities.
  • Continuous improvement — Contribute to CI initiatives to optimise laboratory processes and ways of working.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration — Work with device development teams, quality, IT (for data integrity), and external partners.
  • Laboratory administration — Take responsibility for the organisation, tidiness and functional running of the laboratories.
  • Sample and rig management — Ensure components, rigs and tested samples are tracked, stored and retrievable.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

You are:

  • Organised and methodical — Able to manage equipment, storage and material stocks with precision.
  • Process‑driven — Able to follow protocols and procedures exactly, without deviation.
  • Quality‑focused — Experienced with quality systems and laboratory environments.
  • Detail‑oriented — Strong in record keeping and accuracy.
  • Creative problem‑solver — Willing to think creatively about improving processes and efficiency.
  • Independent and flexible — Comfortable working with autonomy, initiative and adaptability.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Demonstrated ability to improve laboratory processes or introduce more efficient ways of working.
  • Well skilled in method validation
  • Understanding of 6S
  • Familiar with ISO standards such as ISO:20072, 60601, 13485
  • Writing test methods and reports
  • Laboratory management experience
  • Laboratory equipment qualifications desirable
  • Experience managing complex storage systems or multi‑site sample logistics.
  • Strong capability in reviewing documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Proven track record of maintaining equipment qualification, calibration and servicing schedules.
  • Confidence working with external vendors, calibration companies and test partners.
  • A reputation for being a tidy, reliable and proactive lab administrator
