We are seeking a Principal Consultant - Data Engineering & Architecture to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale cloud data platforms and modern data products.

Role Overview

You will provide technical leadership across client engagements, delivering cloud-native data solutions primarily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Working with clients, architects, engineers and business stakeholders, you will define scalable data architectures, lead delivery teams and support enterprise data transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Delivery
Lead the design and implementation of cloud data platforms and data products.
Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics solutions.
Deliver solutions using Python, SQL, dbt and cloud-native services.
Establish engineering standards, best practices and reusable frameworks.
Ensure scalability, performance, security and operational excellence.

Data Architecture
Define enterprise data architectures aligned to business goals.
Lead data modelling activities and platform design.
Design solutions supporting analytics, reporting and AI use cases.
Provide expertise in MDM, data governance and integration.
Support technology selection and roadmap development.

Leadership & Consulting
Lead multidisciplinary delivery teams.
Provide architecture governance and technical oversight.
Mentor engineers and architects.
Engage senior stakeholders and manage delivery risks.
Support solution design, estimation and proposals.

Quality & DevOps
Implement testing, validation and data quality frameworks.
Drive adoption of CI/CD, DevOps and DataOps practices.
Ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Strong experience with GCP or equivalent cloud data platforms.
Advanced expertise in:
Python
SQL
dbt
Cloud-native data engineering services
Experience delivering enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions and data products.
Strong knowledge of data modelling, data quality and monitoring.
Experience with automation, CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Architecture & Leadership
Extensive experience designing enterprise data platforms.
Knowledge of MDM, governance, metadata and integration patterns.
Proven leadership of large-scale data programmes.
Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications
Google Professional Data Engineer and/or Cloud Architect certification.
Experience with AI, Machine Learning or Generative AI.
Knowledge of DataOps, MLOps and Lakehouse architectures.
