Deli Assistant

Job Responsibilities

• Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Prepare and serve hot food in line with company standards and food safety regulations.
• Carry out bake-off preparation of bread, pastries, and other bakery items.
• Complete daily temperature checks, date checks, and food safety records.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the deli area.
• Assist with stock rotation and replenishment.
• Support the wider shop team, including till operations and general store duties when the deli area is quiet.
• Build positive relationships with regular customers and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Previous deli, food service, retail, or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.
• Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food hygiene standards.
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with working hours.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
