Summary

Temporary, seasonal positions available. This is an on-call position for plowing events on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include the operation of town-owned plow trucks to perform pre-treating, plowing and snow removal. Experience plowing snow and snow removal operations preferred; ability to plow and operate a spreader for a lengthy duration.

Examples of duties

• Operate snowplow and salt truck to remove ice and snow from roads and assigned areas, which require early morning starts, extended hours, and weekend duty including holidays.
• Responds in a timely manner when called to assist in snow plowing operations
• Ensures that roads under responsibility of this position are adequately and safely plowed when required
• Inspects equipment on a regularly scheduled basis. Complies with safety precautions.
• Maintains used equipment needed for snow removal.
• Follows all safety rules, policies, and regulations. Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reports all incidents involving equipment’s functioning to Supervisor(s).
