Overview of role

The purpose of this role is to deliver, coordinate, and continuously improve training capability across the shift, ensuring all employees are competent, compliant, and aligned to operational standards.

The Training Lead works closely with Shift Managers, who retain accountability for capability, while ensuring training is delivered consistently, recorded accurately, and continuously improved through data and feedback.

This role forms part of a shift-owned training model where:
Shift Managers are accountable for capability on their shifts
Training Leads coordinate training across three shifts
Trainers deliver training
• Shift Leaders embed training into daily operations
• NVolve provides system control, visibility and governance

Success will be measured through improved training compliance (reduction in training-related errors / deviations), reduced time to competency, improved line performance linked to capability, and increased confidence in capability across the shift.

Key Accountabilities

• Training Delivery & Capability Development:
o Accountable for coordinating the delivering of structured, high-quality training across multiple shifts.
o Support onboarding, upskilling, and multi-skilling.
• Training Coordination & Shift Alignment:
o Training is fully embedded into daily operational plans as a core part of shift performance.
• NVolve System Ownership & Data Integrity:
o Accountable for maintaining accurate, real-time training records within NVolve.
o Monitor training completion, certification, and capability gaps using system data.
• Governance, Compliance & Audit Readiness:
o Accountable for ensuring training meets all HSE, FSQ, and audit requirements.
o Ensure SOPs and training materials are standardised and controlled through defined workflows.
• Buddy System & Trainer Support:
o Accountable for overseeing and maintaining a structured buddy system for on-the-job training.
o Provide coaching, support, and development for buddies and developing trainers.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Identifying and implementing improvements to training delivery and effectiveness.

The Right Person

o Previous experience within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment
o Experience in training, coaching, or developing others in an operational setting
o Strong understanding of production processes, standards, and compliance requirements
o Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills
o Basic data literacy and ability to use systems (NVolve, ERP, reporting tools)
