About Us

Join our dynamic Human Resources & Organisation Development team, where we lead organisational development, workforce strategy, and change. Our function is structured across HR Business Partnering, Resourcing and Operations Services, and Organisational Development & Inclusion, working together to deliver high-quality people management and support organisational performance.

The Role

As a Recruitment Officer, you will deliver high quality, efficient, and inclusive recruitment support across the Council. You will coordinate and deliver recruitment processes from advert to appointment, ensuring compliance with policy, governance, and our commitment to equity and justice. You will play a key role in providing a positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers, supporting safer recruitment, and embedding inclusive practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, from advertising to onboarding
  • Prepare and place job adverts, manage applicant tracking, and support shortlisting and interviews
  • Advise managers on recruitment processes and documentation
  • Act as a key contact for candidates and managers, ensuring a professional and customer-focused experience
  • Support safer recruitment, including right to work checks, references, and DBS processes
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and organisational policies
  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and documentation
  • Apply inclusive recruitment practices and support accessible processes
  • Use recruitment systems and digital platforms effectively
  • Support recruitment-related training and guidance for managers
  • Work collaboratively with HR and organisational colleagues
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of recruitment processes and candidate experience

About You

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of recruitment processes and administrative procedures
  • Understanding of inclusive recruitment practice and equality, diversity, and inclusion principles
  • Experience supporting or delivering recruitment activity or providing HR/customer-focused administrative support
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and working with systems or databases
  • Experience working as part of a team to deliver a consistent and customer-focused service
  • Relevant qualification in HR, business administration, or equivalent experience (desirable)
