Siemens Corp., IT Americas is seeking qualified candidates for its Summer 2027 Internship Program in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence beginning in May 2027. In this role, you will work alongside experienced data and technology professionals to perform data analytics, business intelligence reporting to address real business challenges across Siemens.

This program is based in Alpharetta, GA.

Role Description:

As a Data Analyst and Business Intelligence Intern, you will gain firsthand experience working with enterprise data, analytics, and turning raw data into valuable business reporting for executive stakeholders. You will contribute to projects from data preparation and analysis through solution development and visualization while learning how data analytics and business intelligence are applied within a global organization.

The employee responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Advanced Data Visualization: Using Power BI to create interactive dashboards, utilizing DAX and Power Query for sophisticated data modeling.
• IT Insights Reporting: Transition manual reporting processes into fully automated Power BI reports, delivering live, interactive dashboards used by leadership to track KPIs.
• Report Optimization & UX Audit: Conduct "User Experience Audits" of existing report suites to improve performance and usability, optimizing DAX queries for faster loading and enhanced user experience.
• Documentation & Enablement: Maintain technical and end-user documentation, including a comprehensive Data Dictionary (defining measures and dimensions) and User Enablement Guides to increase self-service adoption.
• Data Engineering Basics: Query large datasets and support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to prepare data for reporting.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with data architects and business experts to translate complex requirements into actionable insights and high-value data products.
• Data Storytelling: Communicate analytical findings to non-technical audiences clearly and persuasively to support data-driven decision-making.
• Agile Participation: Participate in Agile ways of working, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and project reviews.
• Work with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake to access, analyze, and prepare data for various use cases.
• Collaborate with data architects, developers, and subject matter experts to understand business requirements, review solutions, and improve technical deliverables.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement and help develop solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Research emerging technologies and explore how AI and new data capabilities can be applied to business challenges.

Basic Qualifications

• Current undergraduate pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Experience with data analysis and a strong interest in Business Intelligence.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate meaningful insights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
• Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Alpharetta, GA and able to work 40 hours per week from May through August.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI, including familiarity with DAX and Power Query.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases for querying large datasets and understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
• Understand data modeling, data preparation techniques, and "Data as a Product" concepts.
• Interest in User Experience (UX) design principles as they apply to data visualization and reporting.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, maintain documentation, and meet project milestones.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies, experiment with innovative approaches, and bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
• Understanding of data transformation and preparation techniques.
• Familiarity with generative AI, large language models, or AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Familiarity with Agile practices such as sprint planning and stand-ups.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, global, cross-functional team.
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies, experiment with new approaches, and continuously improve.

You’ll Benefit From
The hourly pay range for this position $24 - $31 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
