Loan Recovery Officer

Kolomoni Microfinance Bank (Gambia) Limited is a CBG-licensed microfinance institution serving customers across The Gambia through a growing branch network. We are recruiting Recovery Officers to strengthen our Credit & Recovery function.

THE ROLE

You will manage a portfolio of customers with overdue loans — making contact, visiting businesses in the field, establishing why repayment has stalled, negotiating realistic commitments within approved limits, and following through until the account is back on track. It is a field-facing, target-driven role with real accountability from the first month.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Follow up assigned customers with overdue repayments by telephone, SMS and field visit.
• Secure clear repayment commitments and follow them through to payment.
• Visit customers to confirm business status and identify available repayment sources.
• Spot early warning signs and escalate high-risk accounts promptly.
• Maintain accurate recovery records that reconcile with the Bank's systems.
• Deliver against monthly recovery, portfolio-quality and activity targets.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• WAEC/WASSCE as a minimum; a diploma or degree in a business, finance or related discipline is an advantage.
• 0–1 year of experience. Fresh graduates and school leavers are encouraged to apply.
• Exposure to microfinance, banking, collections, sales, customer service or field operations is an advantage.
• A confident communicator who can hold a difficult conversation without damaging the relationship.
• Comfortable working in the field and willing to travel within the assigned area.
• Numerate, well organised, resilient, and personally accountable for results.
• Unquestionable integrity — the role handles customer information and financial commitments daily.
