POSITION PURPOSE
The Electrician supports the Engineering Department by maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and hotel facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for guests and associates. The role contributes to the upkeep of the property through preventive maintenance, technical expertise, and adherence to The Luxury Collection standards.
Engineering Operations & Guest Experience
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve electrical and technical issues professionally.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, tools, and mechanical installations.
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and building systems.
- Install, replace, and maintain electrical switches, outlets, lamps, fixtures, and related components.
- Identify, locate, and operate utility shut-off systems and equipment control mechanisms as required.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, and building systems when necessary.
- Maintain engineering inventory and requisition parts, tools, and supplies as required.
- Complete routine inspections of hotel facilities, machinery, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate daily maintenance activities, repairs, and outstanding issues to other shifts.
- Support maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and external property areas.
- Replace light bulbs, filters, and perform minor carpentry, painting, drywall repairs, and finishing tasks.
- Assist with landscaping equipment, irrigation systems, and exterior maintenance requirements.
- Utilize building management systems and basic computer applications to monitor equipment and make operational adjustments.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and all safety requirements before carrying out maintenance work.

- Maintain knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
High School Degree or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience
1-2 years of experience in Electrical Maintenance, Building Maintenance, Engineering Operations, or a similar environment. Hotel engineering experience is considered an advantage.
License / Certification
Valid Driver’s License. Electrical certification or trade qualification is considered an advantage.
Supervisory Experience
No supervisory experience required.
