Intern – Construction Management / Civil Engineering
Location: Andersen Air Force Base, Guam (On-Site)
When: Summer 2027 (May to August - dates are somewhat flexible) 40 hours per week.
ECC is seeking a motivated junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field to join our experienced construction team in Guam. This on-site internship offers hands-on experience supporting field operations, quality management, project administration, and construction execution activities on a major U.S. military construction project. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in gaining overseas construction experience, exploring international travel opportunities, and pursuing full-time careers supporting projects throughout the Pacific region and other global locations after graduation.
Learning Opportunities:
Interns will gain exposure to large-scale military construction projects, scheduling, quality control procedures, subcontractor management, and field execution in an international project environment. Participants will receive mentorship from experienced construction professionals while developing a comprehensive understanding of field-based project management. This internship offers valuable insight into overseas construction operations and potential career paths supporting projects throughout the Pacific and other international locations with potential full-time employment upon graduation.
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Manager, Superintendent, and Quality Control staff with daily construction operations
- Assist with field inspections and project documentation
- Attend client and subcontractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes
- Support project tracking, reporting, and schedule updates
- Assist with subcontractor coordination and site logistics
- Help maintain project records and electronic filing systems
- Monitor adherence to project safety and quality requirements
Skills & Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline (3.0 GPA or above preferred)
- Interest in international construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a field-based construction environment
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to obtain a military base base if hired
- Ability to operate motor vehicle and clean driving record
- Interest in pursuing a full-time construction career supporting domestic and international projects after graduation
ECC's targeted hourly rate for this position i Guam is $25.00 per hour. Travel and lodging provided by ECC. Actual pay may vary based on education, experience, qualifications, and business needs.
