In the midst of a historic time in the media industry, Bloomberg Media is growing its global footprint and reach through new innovations from Bloomberg Originals to New Economy Forum.

We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Senior Editor for breaking news, to serve as a key editorial leader on our global TV Newsdesk. You will be the operational engine during breaking news—identifying market-moving headlines, making instant editorial calls, and delivering up-to-the-second updates to TV show teams whilst LIVE on-air. Working closely with the APAC TV Newsdesk Managing Editor, Team Leader and Newsdesk Producers, you will help spearhead cross-platform alignment across TV, our global print newsroom, and digital/social media platforms. You must thrive under real-time deadline pressure, have excellent communication skills, possess strong financial market fluency, and demonstrate the leadership and editorial confidence required to mobilize global reporting resources at a moment's notice.

We’ll trust you to:

• Act as the primary editorial bridge between Bloomberg TV, the global print newsroom, digital desk, and social media teams to drive unified, high-impact coverage
• Proactively monitor Bloomberg Terminal alerts, Bloomberg News stories and wires, data feeds, and social channels to rapidly spot, verify, and lead breaking market, corporate, and geopolitical coverage
• Deliver fast, precise, and vetted updates directly to live show producers and on-air anchors to keep Bloomberg Television ahead of the competition
• Securely organize and pre-position embargoed stories with live show producers to execute instant releases the moment restrictions lift
• Perform high-speed data entry and real-time text delivery across newsroom communication platforms during fast-moving news events
• Maintain a calm, decisive presence in a fast-paced, high-intensity newsroom environment while communicating clearly across cross-functional teams

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or degree-equivalent qualifications
• 6+ years of experience in a broadcast newsroom, assignment desk, or real-time wire agency, with a strong track record of directing breaking news coverage
• A solid understanding of global financial markets, macroeconomic indicators, central bank policy, corporate earnings, and APAC news dynamics
• Demonstrated success coordinating and communicating breaking coverage simultaneously across broadcast TV, print/wire desks, and social media platforms
• Exceptional editorial judgment and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a real-time, fast paced newsroom
• Flexibility to work early morning weekday shifts aligned with APAC market opens and global news handoffs
• Fluency in both spoken and written English
• Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.

We'd love to see:

• Experience in TV or video news production
• Experience using the Bloomberg Terminal
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience on a broadcast or real-time breaking news desk
• Deep knowledge of the Asia-Pacific media and economic landscape, with prior newsroom experience in the region
