The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Founded in 1884, The Hong Kong Jockey Club (“the Club”) is a world-class racing club that acts continuously for the betterment of our society. The Club has a unique integrated business model, comprising racing and racecourse entertainment, a membership club, responsible sports wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution. Through this model, the Club generates economic and social value for the community and supports the HKSAR Government in combatting illegal gambling.
The Division
The Corporate Affairs (CA) Division strengthens the strategic development and positioning of the Club as a world-class racing club and charity organisation, through engaging key stakeholders in both Hong Kong and the Mainland, and maintaining efficient and effective corporate communications.
The Department
The Mainland Affairs Department (Policy & Stakeholders Engagement) is responsible for strategic liaison and engagement with Mainland stakeholders across both governmental and non-governmental sectors. Through a wide range of programmes, events and engagement platforms, the Department supports the Club’s operations and long-term development in the Mainland. It also monitors relevant policies, measures and regulatory developments affecting the Club, and identifies potential challenges and opportunities arising therefrom.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Deputy Executive Manager, Mainland Affairs, the post holder will provide logistical and clerical support for the department and team’s efforts in formulating and executing strategic engagement initiatives with key stakeholders, including government authorities, industry practitioners, as well as community and enterprise partners, with a view to advancing the Club’s sustainable development in the Mainland. The role will focus primarily on facilitating the team’s and MA’s engagement with relevant government authorities, thereby contributing to the Club’s strategic programmes and BAU operations in the GBA.
The Job
- Support the planning and execution of stakeholder engagement initiatives at the GBA to promote mutual understanding, build trust, strengthen collaboration, and foster long-term strategic partnerships in support of the Club’s Mainland operations and development.
- Support the Department’s contribution to the Club’s strategic initiatives, including Mainland Development and BAU operations, through effective stakeholder engagement, coordination and follow-up actions.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for business trips, official visits and events involving government stakeholders.
- Provide clerical and administrative support for the coordination of internal and external meetings, the preparation of meeting materials, financial administration (including expense claims and sponsorship/donation applications), service vendor engagement, and other activities related to the Department’s BAU operations and ad hoc projects.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors.
About You
- A recognised university degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Mainland Studies, or a related discipline, preferably with relevant professional qualifications.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate administration or secretarial roles, preferably related to Mainland affairs, government relations, external affairs, public relations, customer relations and/or journalism.
- Good communication skills and an outgoing personality.
- A team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- A fast learner with the ability to quickly grasp internal financial protocols and administrative procedures.
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Proficiency in Putonghua is essential.
