The Division
The Sports Business Division is central to the Club’s overall aspiration to become a globally recognised sports and entertainment brand, with world-class horse racing at its core. The Division’s overarching focus is to deliver sustainable growth of the Club’s sports business, deepen customer engagement, and contribute to position the Club as a leading global sports and entertainment brand to enable its commitment to social betterment. Its strategy is delivered through three pillars: broadening the fan base and prospecting new customers, growing the sports wagering business, and building the Club’s brand and commercialising its assets.
Job Summary
Reporting to Senior Trading Manager (Trading and Player Risk), this role is a senior developer role to build and maintain a core component, which is used for assessing player risk and bet value instantaneously, in the new generation of betting system for HKJC. This person also requires managing an offshore development team in SZ and working with Vendors team to support their delivery.
The primary focus for this role will be designing and developing an operational intelligence analytic solution based on user requirements, using Solace/Kafka, C#/ Java, Kubernetes, and MongoDB. Enhancing our existing analytics applications. This role would also require the candidate to be able to support our real-time applications and to provide customer insights from our wagering data.
The Job
- Design, develop, integrate, and support the data analytic system using Solace messaging and C#
- Design, enhance, develop and maintain Solace messaging to support the new/changed requirements
- Ensure the quality of the deliverables
- Contribute to the overall design and architecture of messaging framework via Solace
- Work with Vendor delivery teams to support their delivery
- Liaise with another development teams and stakeholders to build a component that fulfils user requirements
- Deploy Machine Learning/ AI methodology to perform data analysis
- Perform real-time data analytics on our new analytic platform
- Ensure compliance with Responsible Gambling Policy and all stipulated legal requirements pertaining to wagering, thereby protecting the integrity of the Club’s business
- Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor
About You
- Bachelor degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master Degree is preferred
- 8+ years of hands-on development experience, especially on MS platform
- 2+ years of experience on Solace development
- 5 + years on C# development
- Experience in managing offshore team
- Experience in working in large development team
- Experience in working with Vendor delivery team
- C#, Java and/ or C++, ASP.NET, JavaScript
- Knowledge in Python, R Studio, MSSQL server
- Knowledge in Kafka, MongoDB, Kubernetes, Microservice
