YOUR ROLE

Join Digital Realty as a dedicated Data Center Technician and play a vital role in delivering exceptional technical customer service within a dynamic data center environment. In this position, you will have the opportunity to specialize in 'remote hands' operations, managing cross connects and acting swiftly as the first responder to infrastructure emergencies. You'll connect directly with customers, ensuring clear communication while supporting installation, maintenance, and repair activities. WHAT YOU WILL DO

Take ownership of remote hands support including cross connect installations and fiber troubleshooting
Lead as the primary responder to critical infrastructure incidents ensuring rapid resolution
Communicate effectively with customers to provide transparent updates on remote hands tasks
Engage fully in a structured rotating shift schedule with 12-hour day and night shifts, including designated rest periods
Support and execute data center installation and migration projects with precision
Maintain and manage inventory to support efficient data center operations
Work collaboratively across teams to uphold operational excellence and health and safety standards
Perform regular inspections and support preventive maintenance initiatives to minimize downtime

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Proven expertise in remote hands operations, fiber troubleshooting, and foundational electrical system knowledge
Commitment and resilience to thrive within a rotating 12-hour shift work environment
A proactive problem-solving attitude with excellent communication skills key to customer success
2-4 years of experience in relevant technical environments such as telecommunications, electrical, or cooling systems
Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken; knowledge of Croatian is a plus but not essential
Relevant vocational or secondary technical education with electrician certification seen as a significant plus
Strong grasp of data center operational best practices alongside ITIL or similar process knowledge
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining high service standards
Advantageous to have experience engaging with customers and managing cross-functional project workloads
