About this opportunity:

Ericsson Hungary R&D is looking for a CI Developer to support and maintain the MINI-LINK continuous integration system.

MINI-LINK is Ericsson’s well-known microwave transport solution within the radio system, with more than five million units sold. It is a scalable, flexible, modular and robust microwave transmission system used primarily in mobile networks, supporting both TDM and Ethernet traffic.

The MINI-LINK product is Linux-based. Its source code is written in C/C++, while automated tests are developed in Java. As a CI Developer, you will help ensure that the build and test environment remains reliable, efficient and easy to use for product developers. You will work at the intersection of software development, automation and technical support, contributing directly to the quality and speed of product development.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain the build environment used to compile source code and create software packages efficiently.
  • Work with Git, GitLab, and Jenkins to support source-code management and software-development workflows.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve GitLab-based continuous-integration (CI) machinery.
  • Configure and operate automated test execution, providing fast and actionable feedback on test results.
  • Investigate build, test, and pipeline failures in a complex Linux-based system.
  • Provide technical support to MINI-LINK product developers and help resolve issues related to the development and CI environment.
  • Improve the usability, reliability, and performance of build and test flows.
  • Document solutions, working practices, and technical knowledge to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements in tools, processes, and ways of working within the team.

The skills you bring

  • Programming experience in Python.
  • Practical experience with Linux, including Bash scripting and command-line tools.
  • Basic database knowledge and experience with SQL.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, Git, and Jenkins.
  • An interest in software build environments and continuous integration.
  • The ability to understand, troubleshoot, and improve complex systems.
  • A service-minded and support-oriented approach.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with software developers and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • A good command of English, both written and spoken.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience with the following technologies is an advantage:
    • CMake
    • Podman
