Provide geotechnical recommendation and/or services to the PTFI Underground (UG) Mines by directing the design, support and monitoring of geotechnical aspects of UG Mine facilities and operations to ensure safe and efficient operation of UG Mines.
The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:
- Meet the PTFI Safety and Environmental Programs and standards.
- Analyze ground condition and design for appropriate support or repair for new or old U/G mine facilities for all U/G areas (including provide warning of unsafe conditions).
- Analyze ground movement and damage progress to provide appropriate action plans, in order to ensure safety of the miners also to achieve production target.
- Monitor drift and area workings stability, particularly for complex and high-risk areas, using geotechnical devices to ensure safe and efficient operation of UG Mines.
- Monitor development progress incorporated monitoring instrument installation in line with GBC-Engineering target.
- Provide analysis for critical areas in correlation with ground condition, damage progress, modelling, and monitoring data to determine following plan of rehab.
- Develop skills of subordinates following plans with taking part to order some critical paths for crew/Pratama such as training, assessment and understanding general geotechnical aspects.
- Ensure all monitoring data collected routinely and analyze it as a correlation of damage progress in that area.
- Build a good communication of all clients and reacts soon for every event correlated to geotechnical issue.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Graduate in Geological, Mining or Civil Engineering with 3 years of experience.
Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Characters)
- Have knowledge of basic theory of rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering from university course work.
- Be able to communicate with field people, lead subordinates, develop or train subordinates and must be energetic & willing to work in the field.
