Job Identification

Logistics Engineer, Iraq is a position responsible for managing and coordinating inbound logistics operations to ensure the uninterrupted availability of raw materials, packaging materials, spare parts, and other critical supplies required for plant operations. The role focuses on overseeing import processes, transportation, customs clearance activities, supplier and stakeholder coordination, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and compliant supply chain operations.

What We Expect

• Manage all inbound logistics activities from supplier dispatch until receipt at the plant warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate execution of the supply process.
• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to secure timely delivery of materials and maintain supply continuity.
• Monitor inbound and import shipments proactively and resolve transportation delays, shipment discrepancies, and logistics challenges to minimize operational disruption.
• Review, verify, and maintain shipping documentation including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Certificate of Origin, Bill of Lading, and other regulatory documents to ensure compliance and operational accuracy.
• Lead and coordinate customs clearance activities while ensuring adherence to local regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Track shipment status and provide regular logistics updates, reports, and visibility to internal stakeholders to support effective planning and decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement, Planning, Warehouse, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure timely material availability and support uninterrupted production activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely receipt and recording of materials in ERP/SAP systems while maintaining data integrity and inventory accuracy.
• Monitor logistics-related costs including demurrage, detention, and transportation expenses, while supporting initiatives aimed at improving cost efficiency and operational performance.
• Maintain inbound logistics records and reports, identify potential supply chain risks, proactively escalate issues, and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance supply chain service levels and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of import/export operations, customs clearance processes, and international transportation.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional activities and manage multiple logistics priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Negotiation and supplier coordination skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience working with ERP/SAP systems and logistics reporting tools.
• Openness to change and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Quality-oriented with strong attention to accuracy and operational excellence.
• Knowledge of supply chain and logistics best practices.
• Cost awareness and business acumen.
• Strong execution, follow-up, and coordination capabilities.
