This Position reports to:

Business Manager - Commercial&Operations (본부장/부사장)

We are looking for either an experienced professional who can quickly contribute in the role or an early-career talent with the capability and potential to grow into broader HSE and Quality responsibilities within approximately 18 months.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the local organization in maintaining a safe, compliant, and sustainable working environment. With HSE as your primary area of responsibility, you will work closely with line managers and employees to identify risks, prevent incidents, and strengthen the local safety culture.

You will also support customer quality and quality assurance activities, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, audits, and quality management system requirements. In addition, you will provide general operational and administrative coordination to support the smooth operation of the local business.

This role is contributing to ABB Robotics in Korea, based in Cheonan. Main stakeholders include local business leaders, line managers, employees, customers, suppliers, external authorities, and regional or global HSE and Quality teams.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Leading day-to-day HSE activities, including workplace risk assessments, incident reporting and investigation, corrective actions, statutory and internal compliance support, HSE training, inspections, and the implementation of ABB HSE policies and programs.
• Supporting quality and CQE activities, including customer quality cases, complaint handling, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, quality data review, internal and external audits, and continuous improvement of the local quality management system.
• Partnering with local management and employees to strengthen HSE and quality awareness, communicate lessons learned, monitor agreed actions and KPIs, and coordinate with customers, suppliers, authorities, and regional or global stakeholders when required.
• Providing operational and administrative support, including documentation and record management, report preparation, meeting and training coordination, purchase and vendor administration, and other general office activities required for effective local operations.

Detailed scope of responsibilities

HSE responsibilities (approximately 50%)

• Drive HSE activities including risk assessments, incident reporting and investigations, corrective actions, and compliance with local regulations and ABB standards.
• Support HSE audits, inspections, emergency preparedness, employee training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor HSE KPIs and reporting requirements while partnering with managers and employees to strengthen safety culture and awareness.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on HSE-related matters.

Quality and CQE responsibilities (approximately 30%)

• Support the implementation and maintenance of the local Quality Management System and related processes.
• Facilitate customer quality cases, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and non-conformance management.
• Support internal and external audits and identify quality improvement opportunities through data analysis and process reviews.
• Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement activities across the organization.

General Operations and Administration (approximately 20%)

• Maintain HSE, Quality, and business records, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate meetings, training, audits, and related administrative activities.
• Support purchasing, vendor coordination, invoice processing, and general office administration.
• Assist with business communications, reporting, and operational support as required.

Qualifications for the role

• Experience or an educational background in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), occupational safety, environmental management, quality, engineering, manufacturing operations, or a related field, preferably within an industrial or engineering environment.
• Up to 5 years of professional experience, with around 3 years of relevant experience considered ideal. Candidates with strong internship, project, or early-career experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Basic knowledge or experience in risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, compliance activities, corrective and preventive actions, and management systems, and are eager to further develop your expertise in these areas.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a willingness to grow in HSE and Quality.
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
• Business-level communication skills in Korean and English, with ability to collaborate with local teams as well as regional and global stakeholders.
• Relevant HSE or occupational safety certifications applicable in Korea are preferred but not required.
