This position is part of the Supplier Engineering and Technology (SET) organization. SET is an organization that is innovative in manufacturing technology, materials and supply chain design. In this position, you, as a supplier engineer play a vital role with ceramic suppliers. You will have the opportunity to work across organization functions to resolve technical, quality and production challenges, as well as opportunity to develop excellence in product design and manufacturing at ceramic supply chain.
Candidate should be a result-driven, self-starter possessing strong interpersonal skills with a strong focus on supporting customers. This individual should also posses the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, to adapt to changing priorities and to work independently.
The impact you’ll make
As a Supplier Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Lam, you'll make an impact in ensuring suppliers manufacturing processes and products meet quality standards by designing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance programs. You design methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating production processes and finished products onsite at our global suppliers’ locations. By analyzing production data, you identify trends and partner with the supplier to resolve technical, quality and production challenges. Your expertise will help develop excellence in supplier product inputs supporting Lam's commitment to delivering high-quality and reliable products.
What you’ll do
- Coordinate and support investigations of critical component quality issues reported by customers and/or manufacturing sites, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement of supplier quality and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost competitiveness, and on-time delivery
- Audit and document supplier performance related to critical manufacturing processes, records, and quality management systems
- Collaborate on the continuous development of supply base through close teamwork with product management, global product group, and supplier business managers
- Leads, and is personally accountable for, high profile project timelines and milestones
- Continuously identify process improvement opportunities and develop Best Known Methods (BKMs)
- Conduct standardized supplier quality audits and manage Supplier Quality Scorecards to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement.
- Drive Root Cause and Corrective Action Analysis
Who we’re looking for
Major in Ceramic, Material Science Engineering or Mechanical engineering.
Bachelor’s or Master's degree with no experience is eligible for application as long as major or study area corresponds with level of education requirement.(학/석사 신입지원 가능)
Material test design capability to support Ceramic material qualification/development in terms of analysis, interpretation and determine the needs of testing. (e.g. ICP-MS, ICP-OES, GDMS, SEM/EDS, XRD, Dielectric Constant & Loss, Flexural strength & Toughness, Hardness, Depth of Damage etc.)
Creative thinking and strong problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities, including experience in the areas of material and mechanical engineering
Solid understanding of Ceramic and CVD SiC process
Solid understanding of statistical process control
In-depth understanding of equipment and component manufacturing processes
Experience in supplier process development & quality management
Understanding of failure analysis and problem solving
International & domestic travelling
Preferred qualifications
- Solid understanding of Quality Management System assessment and maintenance
- Fabrication knowledge in Ceramic (ISO Press, Sintering, Grinding)
- Familiar with various problem-solving methodologies, 8D/5 Whys/Fishbone/logic tree
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills in Korean and English
- Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
