The School of Engineering and & Computing at the American International University in Kuwait comprises the departments of Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The school offers Bachelor of Science (BSc) degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Position Summary

The School of Engineering and Computing invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Computer Science at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, maintain an active research profile, and engage with emerging technologies and methodologies. Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching, curriculum development, student mentorship, research, and institutional service, while contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, student-centered, and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in Computer Science, including Game Programming, Data Science and Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and emerging technologies.

  • Integrate AI, programming tools, industry-standard software, and hands-on project-based learning into teaching.

  • Supervise and mentor undergraduate research, senior projects, software development projects, and capstone activities.

  • Develop and continuously improve Computer Science curricula, courses, laboratories, and learning outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of university-level teaching experience, with demonstrated excellence in Computer Science education.
  • Strong expertise in one or more areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics, Game Programming, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Networks, or related fields.
  • Experience in curriculum development, course assessment, accreditation, laboratory development, and continuous program improvement.
  • Proficiency with relevant programming languages, development environments, data-analysis tools, AI/ML frameworks, and industry-standard software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with strong advising, mentoring, and student-engagement abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural academic environments.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teaching and research.

  • Ability to integrate diverse cultural and ethical perspectives into the curriculum.
