Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Materials Planning Manager to lead materials planning and production scheduling activities, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of materials throughout the production cycle. This role is responsible for managing inventory levels, overseeing master production scheduling, supporting S&OP/SIOP processes, and driving supply chain performance to meet customer delivery commitments while optimizing operational efficiency.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Materials Planning, Supply Chain, Production Planning, or related areas.
  • Previous people leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP, MPS, Inventory Management, Demand Planning, and S&OP/SIOP processes.
  • Experience in a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • APICS CPIM certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, safety regulations, and environmental management standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for the 0 to 3-month planning horizon aligned with the S&OP/SIOP process.
  • Analyze production capacity, labor, equipment, and resource utilization to support customer demand and identify potential constraints.
  • Monitor and manage material requirements, purchase orders, scheduling agreements, and inventory levels to ensure material availability.
  • Oversee Control Tower meetings, shop floor execution, and backlog management to maintain high on-time delivery performance.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of supply chain master data, including lead times, inventory parameters, safety stock levels, and MRP settings.
  • Identify supply chain improvement opportunities and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration among Materials, Operations, Procurement, and Finance teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Manufacturing and inventory optimization strategies.
  • Escalate business risks in a timely manner and determine the best course of action to maintain operational performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the planning team to achieve business objectives and customer satisfaction goals.
