Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) manages strategic customer accounts quality and is responsible for ensuring that TE provides exceptional customer experience for the Sensors business unit within TE. This includes carrying out strategies to improve the overall customer experience by partnering closely with customer, sales, engineering, and operations.

Task and Responsibilities:

Customer Interface & Audits

  • Serve as the primary quality contact for customers.
  • Lead customer quality meetings, communications, and escalations.
  • Support customer audits, including preparation, pre-audits, and site visits.

Voice of Customer & Customer Satisfaction

  • Act as the Voice of Customer for quality-related matters.
  • Monitor customer scorecards and quality performance metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives and RCA activities.
  • Manage and maintain customer quality portals and claims alignment.

Warranty Management

  • Lead warranty settlements and recovery reviews.
  • Support warranty agreement negotiations with customers.
  • Drive warranty reduction initiatives through trend analysis and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the quality lead for customer improvement programs (PIP, QJ, etc.).

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead investigations for escalated quality issues.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
  • Drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Customer Requirements & Quality Agreements

  • Review, communicate, and ensure compliance with Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).
  • Support development and negotiation of quality and warranty agreements.

Quality Operations Support

  • Support engineering changes, deviation requests, and NPI activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes.

Customer Complaints Management

  • Coordinate customer complaints, particularly for imported sensors and special cases.
  • Lead containment actions and customer-plant coordination.
  • Review and approve 8D reports before customer submission.
  • Drive improvements to complaint management and quality processes.

Job Requirements

Educational Degree

  • Bachelor’s Degree with engineering technical focus.

Professional Experience (processes and functions)

  • Experience in the Automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience with quality-related activities and problem-solving.
  • Experience in product manufacturing and shop floor environments.
  • Experience in the manufacturing of electro-mechanical components (sensors preferred).

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience.

Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

Basic Requirements (Mandatory)

  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements, including Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).
  • Knowledge of Automotive Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Auditing qualification in IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience using statistical software such as Minitab.

Additional Requirements

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Availability and willingness to travel globally.
  • Advanced English skills, both verbal and written.

Travel: 10%-25%

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible professional level experience; Masters degree or higher or local equivalent may be preferred at this level
