Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and driving the execution of regional sales, trade marketing, and distribution strategies to achieve customer acquisition, wallet growth, revenue, and market share objectives. The role provides leadership to regional sales teams, agents, and merchants by ensuring effective route-to-market execution, channel optimization, and stakeholder management. The incumbent is accountable for achieving regional business targets through the acquisition, activation, and retention of customers, agents, and merchants while ensuring sustainable growth across all financial services products and channels.

  • Lead wallet acquisition, activation, and retention initiatives by driving the recruitment, onboarding, and productive utilization of customers, agents, and merchants within the region to achieve acquisition and usage targets.
  • Deliver regional revenue and transaction growth through the development and execution of sales plans, customer acquisition campaigns, and channel expansion initiatives that drive wallet balances, transaction volumes, and profitability.
  • Lead market penetration and channel development activities by optimizing agent, merchant, distributor, and partner performance while identifying new business opportunities to increase market share within the region.
  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies aligned with the overall business strategy to achieve growth, profitability, customer acquisition, and market leadership objectives.
  • Drive regional sales forecasting, business planning, and performance management activities to ensure achievement of sales and commercial targets.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing regional sales team through coaching, mentoring, capability development, and performance management initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain profitable and sustainable partnerships with key regional stakeholders to support the achievement of Fintech business objectives.
  • Lead the execution of trade marketing initiatives and promotional activities to stimulate customer adoption, transaction growth, and channel productivity.
  • Ensure achievement of BTL visibility objectives across all outlet categories through effective merchandising and brand execution standards.
  • Drive the collection and analysis of market intelligence, customer insights, and regional trends to identify opportunities and make recommendations for business growth.
  • Lead the execution of regional trade marketing programs and sales initiatives to ensure delivery of business objectives and commercial outcomes.
  • Ensure seamless integration and execution of Fintech strategies across all relevant channels and customer touchpoints within the region.
  • Monitor and analyze regional sales performance, channel productivity, profitability, and market trends, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Ensure consistent brand representation, visibility, and customer experience standards across all Fintech retail outlet types within the region.
  • Drive effective communication and implementation of Fintech propositions across customers, agents, merchants, and channel partners.
  • Monitor competitor activities, regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging opportunities, providing timely recommendations to strengthen market competitiveness.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration with internal and external partners to support regional business growth and operational excellence.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or any related discipline.
  • A postgraduate qualification (MBA or Master's Degree) and/or professional certification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 - 13 years' experience in sales, business development, or channel management preferably within the financial services, fintech, or FMCG sectors.

  • At least 3 years' experience leading sales teams and managing regional commercial performance.

  • Strong knowledge of mobile money, digital financial services, wallet growth strategies, merchant ecosystems, and payment solutions.

  • Proven track record of delivering revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and sales target achievement.

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.

  • Experience in managing agents, merchants, distributors, and third-party channel partners across diverse geographical locations.
