Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled Filtration System / Application Engineer to join our Filtration Engineering team in the Netherlands. In this role, you will combine your expertise in mechanical engineering, filtration technology, pressure vessel design, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to develop customised solutions for complex customer requirements.

You will play a key role in translating customer specifications and technical standards into innovative and reliable filtration systems. Working closely with engineering, sales, proposal, simulation, and innovation teams, you will provide technical expertise throughout the product and project lifecycle while contributing to the continuous development of our filtration portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualise and design new products and integrated system solutions based on core filtration technologies, customer specifications, and applicable technical standards
  • Develop tailored filtration solutions that address complex customer requirements and application needs
  • Validate designs using in-house calculations, FEA, and sizing tools
  • Perform FEA analyses for mechanical assemblies and production orders, ensuring compliance with relevant norms, regulations, and pressure vessel codes
  • Apply pressure vessel design principles and relevant international standards to ensure safe and compliant solutions
  • Collaborate with the Proposal Engineering team to review technical proposals, solution architectures, system components, and integration methods
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the global Sales team, helping them understand and effectively position filtration products and services
  • Work closely with global design and engineering teams to define project scope and develop customer-specific solutions
  • Participate in design reviews covering new orders, proposal enquiries, order specifications, customer change requests, and new product development activities
  • Identify opportunities for technical product enhancements and contribute to Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives
  • Support the further development of the filtration product portfolio in line with market and customer needs
  • Contribute to the development of the Filtration Engineering Centre of Excellence and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support special product and application requests during bidding and sales activities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary project team to deliver the optimal solution for our customers

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • At least 6 years of experience in an engineering role, with a proven ability to work on complex engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, mathematics, and physics
  • Good understanding of solid mechanics and strength of materials
  • Strong technical knowledge of filtration products, services, and applications
  • Experience with pressure vessel design and international pressure vessel codes
  • Knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Section VIII Division 1, particularly Design by Formulas, and preferably Division 2, Design by Analysis
  • Proven experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), including stress analysis and simulation
  • Hands-on experience with FEA software, preferably ANSYS Workbench or Solid Edge Simulation
  • Experience with 3D design software, preferably Solid Edge
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a global, cross-functional team
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, innovation, and product development
  • Proficient in English & Dutch and other language will be an advantage
