Job Description (General Summary)
Are you analytical, confident, and ready to build something from the ground up? At Intralox, one of the world’s leading innovators in conveyance solutions, we are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Equipment Business in Wehl and strengthen supplier quality across our European supply base.
Why this role matters
Our Equipment team in Wehl works with suppliers across Europe to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions to our customers. As part of a global quality network, we collaborate across Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain. Ownership, practical problem-solving, and continuous improvement are central to how we work.
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll establish and lead a dedicated supplier-quality capability for our European Equipment organization. You’ll take ownership from supplier qualification and part approval through nonconformance management and continuous improvement. By combining technical expertise with constructive supplier relationships, you’ll help us move from reactive issue resolution toward preventive quality management.
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
What you’ll do:
- Build supplier-quality processes, performance measures, and review routines, and follow up assertively to hold suppliers accountable for improving performance and manufacturing reliability.
- Analyze supplier data and recurring issues, translating your findings into improvement and risk-mitigation plans before they affect operations or customers.
- Lead supplier audits, nonconformance management, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), ensuring effective containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and effectiveness verification.
- Lead supplier qualification and part approval, defining appropriate inspection, validation, documentation, and control requirements for new or changed parts and processes.
- Partner with Sourcing Category Managers and buyers on supplier selection, performance, and escalation, and collaborate with suppliers and colleagues across Quality, Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain, bringing supplier-quality expertise into new product development and aligning local practices with global standards.
What you bring:
- At least five years of relevant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, quality engineering, supplier development, or a related field.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree - or an equivalent technical background - in quality, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- Hands-on experience with supplier audits, nonconformance management, SCARs, corrective actions, structured root-cause analysis, and quality improvement across an external supplier base.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing quality principles, quality systems, process controls, and inspection methods, together with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, inspection results, and supplier-quality data.
- Professional fluency in Dutch and English, combined with an analytical, self-managed approach and the confidence to challenge suppliers and influence stakeholders across different functions.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, control plans, statistical process control, Lean, Six Sigma, or comparable quality methodologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, sheet-metal fabrication, extrusion, surface treatment, or assembly.
- Experience in supplier development, procurement, or an international, low-volume, high-mix equipment or automation environment.
If you don’t meet every requirement but are excited about the role, we still encourage you to apply.
Location and travel
This position is based in Wehl, with a preference for full-time office attendance. Regular visits to suppliers in the Netherlands and elsewhere in Europe are required, along with occasional international travel to collaborate with colleagues across regions.
Why Intralox?
- International environment with opportunities to grow your career globally.
- A supportive, high-performing team that values collaboration.
- A workplace driven by ideas, innovation, and ownership.
- A financially strong, market-leading brand.
- Performance-based profit sharing.
- 25 holiday days + 6 ATV days.
- Excellent benefits package including a mobility card for business and personal use, pension scheme and contributions to health & life insurance.
Note: To be considered for this role, you need to be based in the Netherlands and have a valid work permit.
