As our Technical Supervisor Service Projects based in Rotterdam, you will serve as a supportive and guiding anchor for our crane service team. In this role, you will provide thoughtful functional leadership to our service and maintenance technicians, ensuring their daily well-being while coordinating multiple projects simultaneously. You will report directly to the Service Manager Cranes, serving as a vital and collaborative bridge between our clients, technicians, engineering, and sales departments to bring our crane and modernizations services to life beautifully.
What are your key responsibilities:
- Empathetic Team Leadership: Provide warm, functional guidance to a dedicated group of 5 to 10 service and maintenance technicians, allocating team members to projects with care and striving for continuous team growth and development.
- Thoughtful Project Preparation: Review upcoming assignments attentively to identify and clarify any ambiguities, and collaborate closely with Engineering, Sales, and Purchasing to detail schedules and coordinate resources smoothly.
- Safe and Mindful Operations: Set a supportive example by leading welcoming toolbox meetings, preparing detailed Time-Risk Analyses (TRA) and safety plans (VGMW), and ensuring safety compliance is embraced by everyone on-site.
- Nurturing Client Relationships: Act as the caring and reliable primary contact for our customers throughout each project, monitoring progress, managing schedules, and facilitating a warm and professional formal handover upon completion.
- Collaborative Sales and Quoting: Harmoniously partner with our sales department, sharing your technical expertise to help shape supportive, competitive, and highly accurate quotes for our clients.
- Harmonious Site Coordination: Support our wider operational network by coordinating with subcontractors, managing site access, arranging specialty equipment (such as mobile cranes, skyworker or scaffolding etc.), and ensuring materials are delivered on time.

What you bring to the role:
- Technical Foundation: Deep knowledge and supportive experience in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, complemented by a valid VCA certification.
- Proven Professional Experience: Over 5 years of experience in a similar or related operational role, with a natural ability to guide people and organize projects thoughtfully under pressure.
- Warm Communication & Languages: Exceptional communication and team-player skills, with fluent command of Dutch and English; conversational German is highly appreciated to connect with our broader network.
- Systems and Digital Fluency: Practical comfort utilizing ERP systems and Google Workspace to maintain smooth documentation, billing instructions, and team workflows.
- Positive & Supportive Attitude: A cheerful, solution-oriented approach with a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and cooperative environment that minimizes downtime and supports fellow contractors.
