Manager Business Control

Turn financial insight into impact, and help business control move from explaining results to driving them.

Your role

As Manager Business Control, you raise the bar on business control at BDR Thermea Group, from explaining financial results to actively driving them. You lead the Markets (Commercial) business control area yourself as business partner to our CCO, while growing into oversight of the full group business control team.

You also drive the professionalisation of local business control, in line with our future Finance target operating model. This is a hybrid role based in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands, with 2-3 office days per week and occasional travel to local markets.

Your team

You report to the Group Accounting & Control Director and manage the ommercial business control team of 2 FTE, and work in close cooperation with the Operations business control team

You work closely with the Management Board, Managing Directors, Finance Directors and Business Area Directors, and connect directly with local business controllers across our markets.

What you'll do

• Lead the Markets (Commercial) business control area as business partner to the CCO

• Lead the global business control team, moving from explaining to driving results

• Improve local business control through our future Finance target operating model

• Deliver insights and surface improvement opportunities across the full business

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Management Board, Managing Directors and Finance Directors

• Contribute to the group planning and control cycle: budgeting, forecasting and month-end closing

What you bring

• 10+ years as a senior business controller, including people management, at a large (1,500+ employees), preferably international corporate

• Master's degree in Finance or Economics

• Strong business acumen: you connect financials to what actually drives operational performance

• Proven business partnering skills with senior operational and commercial stakeholders

• Sharp analytical and strategic thinking

• Ability to turn complex financial insight into a clear, compelling story for different audiences

• Strong affinity with data analytics and ERP systems

Nice to have

• RA/RC (post-master controllers) qualification

• Affinity with commercial dynamics, sales and pricing strategy

• Experience improving a finance or business control operating model
