Hydro is seeking a business oriented lawyer with expertise in data privacy and AI to join the Global Business Services (GBS) Legal team.
Hydro GBS is an organizational area that operates as an internal service provider for the Hydro group. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver relevant IT, financial, legal and HR business services to all business areas within the company.
In this role, you will be the primary legal advisor to Hydro's GBS organization on AI and data privacy matters. You will also collaborate with and advise stakeholders across Hydro’s global organization and business areas. You will help enable responsible innovation, support compliance, and contribute to shaping Hydro's approach to AI governance in a global environment.
The role reports to the Head of GBS Data Privacy and will be part of an international team.

What you will be doing
You will be an advisor and strategic partner to GBS and other business stakeholders on AI and data privacy topics:
- Supporting the implementation and day-to-day operation of Hydro's AI and data privacy framework by providing practical legal guidance, risk assessments, and recommendations that enable compliant and responsible business practices.
- Driving and supporting privacy and AI governance activities, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, controls, compliance activities, data mapping, and privacy and AI risk assessments such as DPIAs and LIAs.
- Partnering with stakeholders across Hydro to embed privacy by design and responsible AI principles into projects, systems, and services, while advising on complex, international, and cross-functional privacy and regulatory matters.
- Contributing to operational privacy and AI compliance activities by delivering training and awareness initiatives, supporting incident and regulatory management, and translating developments in privacy, AI, technology, and digital regulation into practical actions for the business.

Your qualifications
- Law degree with strong academic credentials.
- Preferably 4-8 years of experience from a law firm or as an in-house counsel or similar, and expertise in data privacy, technology law, AI regulations, or related fields.
- Experience advising on AI, digital technologies, or innovation initiatives.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
