Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive - Offshore

We are now looking for a Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive to strengthen our Offshore team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with leading companies in the global maritime and offshore industries while building expertise across a broad range of marine insurance and liability matters. Whether you bring experience from claims handling, law, shipping or another relevant discipline, you will join a collaborative and highly competent team where learning, knowledge sharing, and professional development are part of everyday life.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse portfolio of maritime claims arising from worldwide shipping and offshore operations, with a primary focus on People claims and P&I risks. You will work directly with members, brokers, lawyers, surveyors, experts, authorities, and colleagues across Gard's global network.
• Manage claims from initial notification through investigation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution.
• Provide practical and high-quality advice to members on claims, insurance cover, loss prevention, and risk management.
• Handle negotiations, dispute resolution processes, settlements, and recovery actions where relevant.
• Develop strong relationships with our members and clients, ensuring excellent service and member satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Claims, Underwriting, Loss Preventions and other specialist functions.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, seminars, market activities, and industry discussions.

You are proactive, organized, and service-minded, with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining quality and sound judgement.

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including:

• Law, particularly maritime, insurance, commercial or liability law.
• Marine insurance or claims handling experience.
• Marine technical disciplines, including marine engineering, naval architecture or relevant technical experience from shipping or the maritime industry.
• Nautical or seagoing experience.
• Experience from a shipping company, ship management organisation or other part of the maritime industry.
