Vacuum Truck (Sumper) Driver

We are looking for a motivated Vacuum Truck (Sumper) Operator to join our Wellington based team. If you enjoy working outdoors and making a difference to your environment, then this is your dream job.

About the role

You will be part of a team maintaining our clients’ green spaces and/or street environments. Tasks will be varied and will include:

• Operating a specialized vehicle equipped with a vacuum system and cleaning tools to remove debris and sediment from sumps
• Navigating the network system to locate and access sumps
• Using your expertise to clean the sumps effectively, safely, to specification and following strict safety protocols for personal protective equipment and waste disposal
• Providing coverage operating other Class 2 vehicles during periods of leave (Compactor, Sweeper)
• Rostered overtime functions as required.

Hours of work will be 6.30 am to 3.00 pm, Monday to Friday with overtime when required.

About you

The successful person will have:

• Relevant experience in a similar role, operating a specialist hydrovac vehicle,
• Full Class 2 drivers licence essential, class 4 is beneficial,
• Be physically fit and mobile, able to do physical work,
• Have a commitment to health and safety.
