Our residents are at the center of everything we do at The Helier, and we’re looking for a Care Associate with a passion for excellence in clinical work and providing the best resident experience possible! This is a rewarding opportunity in Private Aged Care that’s the first of its kind in New Zealand.
In this role, you’ll follow the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure the highest level of quality care, while ensuring Oceania Healthcare policies, procedures, contractual and audit requirements are met and maintained.
It is necessary you have:
- NZQA Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant or other relevant experience.
- Experience in private nursing or private hospital level of service.
- Demonstrates sounds knowledge of the ageing process and complex needs.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- A compassionate and empathetic manner.
- Self-motivation, initiative, and a high level of professional integrity.
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting with delivery of a Primary Nursing Care Model that is resident focused.
- Developing and maintaining a holistic therapeutic relationship with residents; providing, excellent, safe care.
- Contributing to residents needs assessment as required, follow the care plan, and assist with the evaluation process.
- Working in partnership with the resident, their family/whānau and community.
- Anticipate residents' needs, understand their preferences, and communicate respectfully.
- Safety leadership, considering the health and safety of procedures and activities.
- Maintain a culture of excellence in provision of care and ensure ongoing professional development.
- Assist the Nurse Practitioners as requested.
