Qualified Support Worker - Hamilton

Each Tangata will have high risk individual care requirements, and you will support them with all elements of daily living such as:

• Palliative Cares
• Bowel Cares
• Dementia
• Mental Health
• Medication

You will provide safe, respectful, person centered support in people’s homes, including being mindful of what matters to them, their culture, values, beliefs, routines, and boundaries. You’ll be supported through structured induction, ongoing training, refreshers, and clear development pathways.

This role is 35 hours per week, $30.27 per hour.

Mōhou Ake | About You

The following skills and experience may be required depending on the specific client needs you are matched to.

• Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate required (recognised in NZ)
• Minimum 18 months' proven experience in the Support Worker role
• Spinal injury experience required
• Experience in managing autonomic dysreflexia required
• Experience administering prescribed medication
• Experience in the use of full, standing, and two-person hoist
• The ability to use written support plans appropriately
• Understand and respect for the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bi-cultural approach
• Full driver's license
• Be willing to learn, reflect, and adapt your approach to what matters to each person
• Committed to culturally safe, respectful support for people from all backgrounds

Some client needs require Support Workers who hold a Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification to ensure safe and appropriate care.
