Are you ready for a new challenge in 2026? Join our Group Performance and Planning team as a Finance Assistant and help us deliver thriving events, attractions, and destinations in Hamilton!
About the Role
As part of the Group Performance & Planning Unit, you'll provide essential financial administration support, ensuring core finance transactions and processes are executed effectively. Reporting to the Accountant, you'll collaborate across various finance areas to support the operational delivery of financial information for Hamilton Gardens, H3, Te Kaaroro Nature Precinct, Te Whare o Taonga Waikato Museum and Gallery, and other group activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide financial administration support
- Ensure effective execution of core finance transactions and processes
- Collaborate across finance areas for optimal work prioritization and utilization
Qualifications

You will bring the following:
- 3-5 years of experience in a transactional finance and/or customer-focused role
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices
- NCEA Level 2 English and Maths to merit level, or equivalent
- Strong computing skills, particularly in accounting systems, MS Word, and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A customer-focused mindset
- Technical accuracy and action orientation
- Willingness to work cross-functionally and build internal relationships
