JOB CONTENT

To manage vehicle scheduling, driver support, and maintenance, for optimal fleet operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and safety through performance monitoring, fuel efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational:

  1. Manage the daily availability of vehicles, ensuring readiness to meet dispatch needs.
  2. Conduct regular vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair requirements.
  3. Coordinate and support the Maintenance department to schedule preventive maintenance services for vehicles to maintain optimal performance and minimize breakdowns.
  4. Oversee vehicle cleaning and ensure adherence to company standards.
  5. Provide ongoing support and guidance to drivers, ensuring their understanding of company policies, safety procedures, and vehicle operation protocols.
  6. Assist drivers with pre-trip inspections and address any concerns reported.
  7. Process driver logs and maintain compliance with relevant regulations.
  8. Investigate and report any accidents or incidents involving company vehicles.
  9. Assist the Logistics & Dispatch Manager with route planning and optimization to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
  10. Monitor fuel efficiency and implement strategies to minimize fuel consumption costs.
  11. Generate reports on fleet performance, including maintenance costs, fuel usage, and vehicle downtime.
  12. Stay informed of changes in relevant regulations regarding vehicle operation, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
  13. Assist with the onboarding of new drivers and training on company policies and vehicle operation.
  14. Perform any other relevant task delegated from time-to-time by the line manager.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education:

Diploma or equivalent in relevant discipline

Experience:

2-3 years of relevant experience

Special Skills & Knowledge:

Good understanding of vehicle maintenance principles and procedures.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant fleet management software.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Business Understanding:

This position requires low level of business understanding
