Your Role

Hi, I'm Josh Flores, General Manager, Comet Backup at WebPros, and I'll be your hiring manager. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and grow our Comet Backup product — this is a growth mandate as much as a product one. Comet Backup provides fast, secure backup SaaS for Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and IT teams. Its versatile, all-in-one platform supports both cloud-hosted and self-hosted deployments, giving users full control over their backup environment. Comet Backup's vendor-agnostic approach allows organizations to store data on-premises or with leading cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or any S3 cloud solution. By enabling robust data resilience and seamless business continuity, Comet Backup empowers IT professionals to safeguard critical systems and ensure disaster readiness with confidence.

This is a technically demanding, senior product role, but we need someone whose center of gravity is commercial: you should be as motivated by revenue, expansion, and new-market growth as you are by the product itself. You'll take full ownership of Comet Backup's product metrics, roadmap, and strategy — spanning new platform integrations, pricing and licensing architecture, and commercial expansion into new markets and channels. You'll work at the level of detail engineering needs: writing PRDs that hold up against source-code-level scrutiny, making calls on backup/DR architecture trade-offs, and negotiating licensing and entitlement logic with engineering and finance — always in service of a growth outcome, not detail for its own sake.

You'll join a Comet Backup team distributed across the US, EU, and New Zealand. You'll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on a daily basis, plus Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Partnerships to define strategy, build business cases, and ship products that drive adoption and revenue growth.

You will thrive here

if you're comfortable operating at the intersection of deep technical detail and commercial strategy. You can read and challenge an engineering design doc line by line, and just as comfortably build the pricing model and business case for a new marketplace listing. You're happy to flex your schedule to overlap with a US/EU/NZ team when it matters, work async the rest of the time, and document your thinking clearly in writing so work keeps moving without you in the room.

You might struggle here

if you prefer narrow ownership, need rigid processes, or want a fixed 9-to-5. This is a globally distributed team spanning the Philippines, US, EU, and New Zealand. The expectation is to overlap with the team as much as possible and work async the rest of the time — in practice, that means shifting your day earlier or later around key meetings with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, or Engineering as needed. You'll have the flexibility to balance your day around this, but you should be comfortable with a schedule that flexes rather than stays fixed.

What You'll Own

Growth & Commercial Strategy

  • Own the commercial growth plan for Comet Backup — new-market entry, channel and marketplace expansion, and packaging/pricing changes aimed explicitly at revenue and adoption growth, not just feature delivery.
  • Identify and prioritize expansion levers: upsell/cross-sell within the existing base, win-back and churn reduction, new customer segments, and new distribution channels (e.g. marketplaces, partners, resellers).
  • Design and run pricing/packaging experiments and monitor their commercial impact — you own the P&L logic behind product decisions, not just the roadmap.
  • Build the business case, forecast, and ROI model for new growth initiatives and defend them to Finance and Leadership.
  • Partner closely with Sales on deal support, competitive positioning, and pricing/packaging questions that affect win rate and expansion revenue.
  • Partner closely with Customer Success on retention and expansion — feeding renewal, churn, and account-health signals back into the roadmap and pricing strategy.

Roadmap & Platform Expansion

  • Own the Comet Backup roadmap and quarterly release cycle end-to-end, including writing the public "What's New" release content.
  • Scope and write PRDs for new backup targets and deployment models (e.g. new hypervisor/cloud platform support, sovereign cloud, protected item types) to a level of technical detail engineering can build directly against.
  • Drive platform and channel integrations (e.g. cPanel, Plesk, marketplace listings such as DigitalOcean) — including partner-facing scoping, pricing, and go-to-market decisions.

Commercial & Licensing Architecture

  • Own pricing, packaging, and SKU strategy, including collaborating with Finance and Engineering on billing platform decisions.
  • Define licensing and entitlement logic across Comet's license activation and account systems, and partner with Engineering on the underlying enforcement rules.
  • Build and present business cases for new products, markets, and partnerships.

Customer & Data-Driven Decisions

  • Conduct user research (sync and async) and translate it into prioritized roadmap decisions — journey mapping, jobs-to-be-done analysis, and competitive teardown.
  • Own product metrics — including growth metrics like MRR/ARR expansion, churn, and conversion — and define the leading indicators that matter for adoption, retention, and expansion.
  • Engage directly with key accounts on product fit, technical evaluation, and escalations, and own product-side communications for security or reliability issues affecting Comet Backup customers.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as the primary product point of contact for Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success — a large share of this role is day-to-day liaison work with these three teams, not just periodic syncs.
  • Provide product input, messaging accuracy, and subject-matter expertise to Marketing's Comet Backup launches and content, without owning their execution.
  • Equip Sales and Customer Success with the product and competitive knowledge they need for deals, renewals, and escalations.
  • Represent Comet Backup as the product expert in cross-functional and leadership forums.

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience, including demonstrated ownership of a technically complex product (infrastructure, backup/DR, storage, security, or similar domains).
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving measurable revenue/growth outcomes — not just shipping features. Comfortable owning pricing, packaging, and expansion strategy as a primary responsibility.
  • Experience identifying and executing on growth levers: upsell/cross-sell, churn reduction, new-market or new-channel expansion, and pricing/packaging experimentation.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with engineering at a detailed technical level — able to read source-level bug reports and architecture proposals and make informed product calls.
  • Experience with SaaS pricing, packaging, licensing, or billing systems, and translating commercial requirements into technical specifications.
  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule that overlaps with a US/EU/NZ team as much as possible, shifting earlier or later around key meetings, and working async the rest of the time.
  • Experience conducting user research (async and synchronous) and using it to drive roadmap decisions.
  • Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with Engineering, Finance, and Legal, and — critically — hands-on experience partnering with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success as regular, ongoing collaborators rather than occasional stakeholders.
  • Excellent written communication skills — this role runs primarily on clear, thorough documentation rather than meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in backup, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, storage, or hosting/infrastructure SaaS.
  • Familiarity with cloud and virtualization platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, or OpenStack.
  • Experience with MSP (Managed Service Provider) or IT channel go-to-market motions.
  • Relevant degree in business, technology, or applied sciences.

Your Impact in the First 180 Days

30 Days:

Get fully onboarded and familiarize yourself with WebPros' products, focusing on Comet Backup. Review the current roadmap, in-flight technical initiatives, and licensing/billing architecture. Build relationships with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Engineering, Finance, and Partnerships, and establish a working schedule that overlaps well with the team.

60 Days:

Own Comet Backup product metrics. Establish working rhythms with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success. Take over in-flight platform and commercial initiatives, and start identifying opportunities for new use cases, growth within existing partners, and areas for product improvement.

120 Days:

Develop and present a product and growth roadmap backed by user research and data analysis, including at least one concrete pricing/packaging or expansion initiative. Launch at least one product or commercial experiment with measurable user and business impact.

180 Days:

Drive measurable revenue growth and adoption through product and commercial initiatives, surpassing agreed growth KPIs (e.g. expansion revenue, new-channel contribution, or churn reduction). Influence pricing strategy, licensing architecture, and market expansion opportunities while serving as the product expert for Comet Backup across WebPros.

How We Work

  • Team & Workflow: You'll join the Product Management team, working closely with Engineering, Finance, and Partnerships, and liaising heavily — on a near-daily basis — with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success across the US, EU, and New Zealand.
  • Collaboration & Ownership: You'll own the Comet Backup roadmap, balancing deep technical work with commercial priorities.
  • Work Processes: Given the heavy day-to-day liaison with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, this role asks for as much live overlap with the US/EU/NZ team as you can manage, with async work filling the rest. Expect to occasionally start earlier or finish later around key meetings — you'll have the flexibility to balance the rest of your day around that.

Our Culture

At WebPros, we embrace diversity by design. Our teams span 42+ nationalities across 20+ countries, bringing unique perspectives and expertise to every product we build.

We are fully remote, async-friendly, and focused on transparency, collaboration, and innovation. Whether you thrive in the fast pace of a startup or the stability of an established product, WebPros offers a career journey you can shape to your strengths.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary, benchmarked to the Philippines market
  • Remote-first flexibility: this role is based in the Philippines, working with a team across the US, EU, and New Zealand — with a flexible schedule that lets you overlap with the team as much as possible
  • Development Budget: Annual personal growth allowance
  • Learning Support: Udemy subscription & peer learning
  • Paid Time Off: 20+ days of annual leave
  • Team Culture: Regular team and company events
