Maintenance Engineer

1. Job Purpose

Primary purpose of this job position is to ensure smooth plant operation by coordinating, monitoring and planning of all stationary equipment maintenance activities. Inspection section along with operation and process highlight equipment location requiring mechanical repair. Other than this OEM manual, recognized industry practices and failure history also provide guidelines as to which equipment require repair. Job requires planning and scheduling of routine maintenance jobs (including but not limited to manpower, tool, spares, and rental equipments planning) and shutdown activities.

Conduct Job Safety Analysis for the downstream workers and associates for safe executions on Stationary Equipment Maintenance Services ranging from Shell & Tube Type Heat Exchangers, Plate & frame type heat exchangers, Variety of Piping in process industries, field fabrications, different valves, towers, tanks, vessels, Metallic Structures, Furnaces, Filters etc.

In addition to the aforementioned, spares identification, quotation review & technical evaluation. Small projects for plant betterment are the key areas for the subject position.

Stewardship of SMIS Recommendations are the key administrative areas of the position.

Timely completion and closure of all safety/inspection recommendations in SMIS

Compliance to Shutdown plans and timelines

• Support to Planning Dept. in shutdown Job Planning & preparation of job packages.
• Safe execution of shutdown jobs as per plan and meeting, all triple constraints i.e. time, scope and time.

Provide support Operations Department in reliable and sustained day to day plant operations by providing the required maintenance services/timely execution of PM plans

• SAP Utilization after its implementation
• Timely execution of PM plans
• Timely resolution of unplanned/unforeseen maintenance problems

Preparation and stewardship of fixed cost budget and investment plan related to stationary equipment.

• Timely Preparation, presentation and approval of budget

• Monthly and Quarterly stewardship of budget

• To remain within 10 variation of budgeted amounts (except for unforeseen expenses for which proper approval process to be followed.

Training & Development

• Prepare Annual Training Plans

• Ensure compliance to Training Plans.

• Coaching & Guidance of sub-ordinates

Business Ethics

• 100% Compliance to UCG meetings

• Resolution of issues highlighted in UCGs

PADP of subordinates

• Timely completion of appraisals of subordinates

• Provide feedback to employees on their performance.

• Help subordinates improve their performance

Spares identification & ordering

• Identification of spares
• Get stock cards prepared.

OHIH Compliance

• To perform responsibilities and conduct activities in healthy and hygienically sound manner.

• To comply with the applicable OHIH policies & protocols contained in the EPCL – OHIH Procedures.
