Introduction

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include to:

operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
keep assigned vehicle(s) clean inside and outside
maintain accurate and up-to-date records including trip sheets, transportation forms, log books, vehicle maintenance records, fuel purchase records, incident reports, accident reports, and vehicle condition reports
perform minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicle(s) as required
coordinate schedules for major or periodic vehicle maintenance to minimise service interruptions
respond to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive
safely transport goods, office supplies, medicines, and other materials to assigned locations
perform special driving duties for international guests from donor agencies as directed by management
perform any other task assigned by management.

Requirements

You should have:

good general education
current and valid driving license
2 to 3 years of relevant driving experience
good interpersonal skills
courteous and polite nature
self-motivation
strong commitment to the aims and objectives of the service
honesty, reliability, and trustworthiness.
