Introduction:
Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research, and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. AKUH is the first hospital in Pakistan to be awarded the prestigious Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) for practicing the highest internationally recognized healthcare standards.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The Aga Khan University is a dynamic academic centre which serves the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services that spreads across Pakistan. AKUH’s Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited and caters to the need of the entire country through its tertiary lab at the main campus and 300+ specimen collection units and 13 STAT labs across Pakistan. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine consists of five major sections, namely Chemical Pathology, Blood Transfusion, Histopathology, Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology. Each section is academically driven and is highly engaged in research and undergraduate, postgraduate teaching and training.

Program Overview:
You will be required to undergo a one-year training program, which includes classroom lectures and bench-side training across:
- Transfusion Medicine
- Hematology
- Point of Care Testing (POCT)
- Clinical Chemistry
- Clinical Microbiology
- Histopathology
- Molecular Pathology
Rotations take place at the Stadium Road Campus and outreach laboratories across Pakistan to ensure comprehensive, hands-on exposure.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Requires a 4-year BS in Medical Laboratory Technology/Science (MLT/MLS) Master's preferred.
- Minimum First Division or CGPA 3.0/4.0 (or equivalent).
- Degree must have been awarded between 2024 and 2026.
- Willingness to work in rotating shifts (morning, evening, night).
- Willingness to be transferred to any section, region, or location as per service needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Selection Process:
- Online MCQs-based assessment
- Interview (shortlisted candidates only)
- Document verification and reference checks
Upon Selection: Training Commencement:
- A monthly stipend will be paid to all onboard trainees during the training program.
- Upon successful completion of the training, a training certificate will be awarded.
