• About the role: Technically lead HV BMS projects based on customer requirements and architecture, guiding a small team through development from concept to validation.
• Technically lead and coordinate a small team of hardware engineers across HV BMS project activities and deadlines
• Distribute, track, and review project activities and deliverables for allocated colleagues
• Define hardware development tasks and guide the team based on existing specifications and architectures
• Drive design and validation of temperature, voltage, and current sensing circuits for HV battery systems, reviewing team outputs
• Ensure correct application of isolation principles (galvanic isolation, creepage/clearance, isolated communication) across the team's designs
• Oversee design and evaluation of the BMS module's internal power supply, including isolated DC-DC converter stages and PMIC selection
• Guide microcontroller selection, port list definition, and clock/oscillator (quartz) circuit design
• Review and approve circuit diagrams, worst case calculations, and simulations produced by the team
• Define test specifications and oversee hardware electrical testing on development samples
• Own process documentation for the project (planning, module docu., layout requirements, FMEA) and ensure team compliance
• Act as the main technical point of contact between the design team, experts, project management, and the customer
• Mentor and support the technical growth of team members
• Working within Hella Design and Development Centers Worldwide

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong, hands-on expertise in high-voltage electronics for automotive applications
• 10y relevant experience in electronic development
• Advanced knowledge of temperature, voltage, and current sensing circuit design
  Solid understanding of isolation principles: galvanic isolation, isolated signal/power transfer, creepage and clearance requirements
• Medium-level knowledge of digital electronics
• Experience with microcontroller selection and port list definition
• Experience with quartz/oscillator circuit design
• Experience with PMICs and power supply design for control modules, including isolated DC-DC converter stages
• Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., LIN, CAN, SPI, I2C)
• Ability to develop each project from scratch according to company processes
• Core competences: Schematic design, Worst Case calculations, Electrical Simulation, FUSA, HW Testing, Customer Interaction
• Prior experience technically leading a project or small team of hardware engineers
• Ability to plan, distribute, and review technical work across a team
• Strong ownership mindset, with confidence acting as the main technical contact for customers and project management
• Mentoring skills, with the ability to support the technical growth of less experienced engineers
• Advanced English (C1/C2 – Proficient)
