Risk Manager
- Einride
- Stockholm
- $120,000 – $160,000
Want to be part of transforming road freight? Einride is showing the world a new way to move, based on the latest digital, autonomous and electric technologies. We build the technology that hauls freight efficiently, and we put it to work for the world's leading manufacturers, retailers, logistics providers and defense organizations, all working toward a future where moving goods costs less for our customers, and less for the planet.
Founded in 2016, Einride became the first company in the world to deploy a cab-less autonomous electric vehicle on a public road (Sweden, 2019). In 2022, we were the first to successfully operate such a vehicle on a U.S. public road. In June 2026, Einride became a publicly listed company on Nasdaq, a milestone that reflects a decade of turning what once looked like science fiction into everyday reality. Today, our technology moves freight across North America, Europe, and the Middle East for some of the world's biggest shippers.
We are looking for a Risk Manager to build our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) system from the ground up while taking operational ownership of our global insurance portfolio, claims handling, and risk disclosures. In this role, you will bridge strategic risk management with daily operational execution, serving as the central link between internal business teams, senior leadership, external brokers, and insurance carriers across Europe and North America.
You will:
- Build & Drive Enterprise Risk Management: Design, establish, and roll out Einride’s first formal ERM framework from scratch—building the risk architecture, risk register, and evaluation tools to identify, assess, and mitigate strategic, operational, and technology-related risks across all global functions.
- Manage the Global Insurance Portfolio: Take end-to-end operational ownership of corporate and fleet insurance programs, including annual policy renewals, coverage placement, exposure gathering, and broker coordination across US and EU jurisdictions.
- Optimize Claims Management & Workflows: Establish and lead end-to-end claims handling processes, coordinating with operational teams, legal counsel, and third-party administrators to minimize loss severity.
- Drive Cross-Functional Partnerships: Serve as the primary risk and insurance partner for business operations, fleet management, tech, and legal teams to ensure coverage keeps pace with evolving autonomous and electric operations.
- Support Regulatory & Financial Disclosures: Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure accurate risk disclosures under SEC guidelines, public company readiness standards, and relevant European governance frameworks (e.g., CSRD).
- Lead Risk Analytics & Board Reporting: Develop executive and board-level risk reporting dashboards, leveraging historical loss data and analytics to optimize insurance retention limits, evaluate total cost of risk (TCOR), and drive data-backed risk mitigation strategies.
We expect you to:
- Bring 4–7 years of experience in enterprise risk management (ERM), corporate insurance, claims handling, or corporate risk consulting—preferably within the tech, automotive, logistics, or industrial sectors.
- Possess a working knowledge of risk disclosure requirements for publicly listed companies, corporate governance standards, and regulatory reporting.
- Have a strong background in structuring complex corporate insurance policies (e.g., D&O, Cyber, Commercial Auto/Fleet, General & Product Liability) and managing global broker networks.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to translate complex insurance data, operational vulnerabilities, and risk concepts into actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
- Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments and possess the drive to design and implement structured processes where none currently exist.
What We Offer
- Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
- Retirement & Savings: 401(k) plan with company match
- Generous Time Off: 25 days PTO, 15 sick days, and 15 paid US holidays annually
- Perks & Wellbeing: Annual wellness stipend
This is a full-time position based in Austin, TX or Stockholm, Sweden. We recommend that you submit your application as soon as possible since selection and interviews are held continually.
Please note that as part of our standard recruitment process, we conduct a background control on the final candidate for this role. This may include verification of education, employment history, any relevant professional certifications or other information that may be of our interest.
