Wood is currently recruiting for a QA/QC Lead to join the team for an immediate start, supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client project in Chonburi, Thailand. This role is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for Thai National.

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, your immediate focus will be supporting the supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client. You will bring to life Woods three pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviours, and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour, to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.

You will thrive on the challenge of balancing technical, team, client, and project leadership in this key site-based role with your focus on relationships and delivery, enabling you to anticipate project needs beyond the immediate scope. You will drive technical excellence and assurance on the welding portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.

In addition, you will

• Supporting the management of all aspects of Quality across the breadth of their respective organization and the services we provide

• Manages and directs a team of QA QC personnel in the construction field

• Maintains relationships with all stakeholders including main contractors

• Identification and regular engagement with key stakeholders to promote quality management and gather feedback on performance

• Support the effective planning and allocation of resources (including people and budgets) enabling the delivery of agreed objectives and deliverables

• Implementing the Wood Business Management System (BMS) across their organization ensuring that its application is effective and that compliance with the system is routinely monitored, assessed, and improved as necessary. Facilitate external BMS certification as appropriate

• Ensuring consistent and effective implementation of Quality supporting systems across their organization (e.g., NCR, improvement actions, lessons learned, etc)

• Supporting tenders and proposal activities for their organization

• Planning and execution of risk-based assurance plans including the escalation of significant findings to program/project leaders

• Monitoring and analysis of delivery performance data, regularly reporting themes and trends to senior leaders, and undertaking intervention as required

• Ensuring quality support through Supply Chain processes to ensure the right first-time delivery of products and services

• Gathering and acting upon customer feedback ensuring action is taken to maintain and improve customer satisfaction

• Degree/diploma or local equivalent in Quality management, project management, or related discipline (desirable)

• Lead Auditor qualification by a recognized industry body (essential)

• Membership of CQI/ASQ Quality organizations, Project Management Institute or equivalent (desirable)

• Formal training in recognized root cause analysis techniques (essential)

Knowledge, skills, and experience:

• 10+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the associated industry)
• Comprehensive understanding of industry standards (ISO 9001)
• Proficient in the analysis of processes and data
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• High Level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
• Proficient in the use of continuous improvement tools and techniques
