Data Engineer Associate 2

Overall governance
• Ensure understanding of data management policies, standards, and work procedures, to provide guidelines to junior members.
• Support periodic revision of policies, standards, guidelines, work processes and procedures that are relevant to data engineering work, to ensure efficient operation and alignment with company’s policies & compliance with relevant governance.

Function-related accountabilities
• Assist senior members in developing strategy for data platform architecture to ensure effective data infrastructure to support business functions to achieve its goals and targets in terms of data-driven decisions.
• Supervise multiple structured and unstructured data gathering from various sources that align with business requirements, in order to ensure completeness of information for analyzing prescriptive statistics and predictive modeling.
• Perform activities in data processing, including developing, testing, and maintaining database pipeline architectures required for extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources to ensure useful, actionable data availability for utilization by relevant stakeholders.
• Build API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity to ensure data flow smoothly and efficiently.
• Develop new data validation methods to enhance data quality and reliability, as well as to ensure compliance with data governance and security-related policies.
• Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality in order to ensure data availability and accuracy for utilization.
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvement, including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes.
• Improve database query performance to improve end-user querying and report generation.
• Provide knowledge sharing about data technology to employees across business hubs to strengthen employees' abilities in data and technology utilization.
• Coordinate key issues/ matters with stakeholders including management teams and other relevant functions to assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.
• Supervise junior members in collaborating with analytics and strategy teams to enhance and streamline business intelligence tools, in order to ensure that high-quality data can be used to support business decisions effectively.
• Keep abreast of new developments in the big data ecosystem, learn new data-related technologies, and able to recommend the application of new technology where appropriate to maximize WHA's benefits in terms of data utilization.
