Description
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accountant will oversee the accounts receivable function and will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts. The Accountant will be tasked to generate and analyse accounting data and prepare reports to support management in the decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities
• Supervise the accounts receivable function, including reconciliations and the timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding items.
• Review VAT and TDS returns, together with the relevant supporting schedules
• Be responsible for the month-end closing process and ensure all the financial postings have been accounted accurately.
• Analyze and report on financial status including variances, trends, revenues, costs, financial obligations and KPIs.
• Maintain and update the Fixed Assets Register and reconcile additions, disposals, and depreciation with the accounting records.
• Monitor the Project Register and reconcile it with the financial records.
• Contribute to the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and supporting financial analyses.
• Assist with annual valuation exercises by preparing and maintaining the required financial information and documentation.
• Support internal and external audit exercises by preparing schedules and documentation and assisting with auditor queries.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures across departments.
• Participate in special financial projects and improvement initiatives as assigned.
• Train and supervise junior staff.
• Attend to any other cognate duties related to the position.

Job Requirements
• ACCA Level 2 and studying towards completion of ACCA certification or any equivalent qualification.
• At least five years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and financial reporting requirements.
• Dynamic and entrepreneurial.
• Detail-oriented and ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
• Excellent organisation skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Computer literate particularly in Excel and MS Office Suite.
• Collaborative, accountable and proactive approach, with sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset.
