Technical Assistant - Marine Department

Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused professional to join our Marine Department as a Technical Assistant. The Marine Department is responsible for the underwriting, claims management and reinsurance of Marine insurance business. The selected candidate will support the day-to-day processing and administration of Marine policies, assist with claims handling and reinsurance-related activities, and maintain effective communication with customers, intermediaries, reinsurers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Process, modify, and update Marine policies, including new business and renewals.
• Prepare quotations and negotiate terms with customers, intermediaries, and stakeholders.
• Communicate and follow up with customers and intermediaries.
• Handle Hull and Cargo claims, including onsite/external surveys.
• Assist with reports, administrative tasks, and internal queries.
• Ensure timely follow-up and compliance with company procedures.

Job Requirements
• Certificate/Diploma in Insurance or a Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in Marine insurance.
• Good interpersonal, communication, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Good planning, follow-up, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
• Good written and spoken proficiency in English and French.
