Purpose of the position

Ensure optimal cash management, financial risk control, and robust treasury operations to support Pernod Ricard’s growth and convivial culture.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Optimize daily cash management and liquidity

  • Plan, monitor, and report the company’s daily cash position, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational and financial obligations in a controlled and reliable way.
  • Develop short, medium, and long-term cash flow forecasts, track variances versus actuals, and proactively recommend actions to protect and enhance cash generation.
  • Prepare clear daily, weekly, and monthly treasury reports, presenting key insights and recommendations to senior management in a grounded, fact-based manner.

Ensure accurate and timely treasury operations

  • Handle payment processing, operational deposits, and routine banking transactions with rigor, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Execute supplier payments on time and in full, acting as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding payment status, inquiries, and issue resolution, while fostering respectful and open relationships.
  • Oversee treasury-related entries and transactions within the ERP and TMS, ensuring data integrity and timely month-end bank reconciliations that withstand audit scrutiny.

Manage funding, banking relationships, and financial risk

  • Assess the company’s funding needs and support the timely execution of financing actions, loan, factoring, and supplier finance transactions from an operational standpoint.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with banks and financial institutions, coordinating day-to-day topics, managing banking agreements and KYC processes, and supporting negotiations on bank fees, commissions, and financing costs.
  • Monitor interest rate, foreign exchange, and liquidity risks; support the execution of appropriate hedging or operational actions, and ensure accurate reporting of bank charges, commissions, and financing costs.

Strengthen governance, compliance, and internal controls

  • Contribute to a robust internal control framework by ensuring disciplined documentation, clear process ownership, and reliable support to internal and external audit activities.
  • Administer and control processes related to bank accounts, credit limits, letters of guarantee, and letters of credit, ensuring they are operated efficiently and in line with group policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Create, update, and deploy treasury procedures and work instructions, promoting standardization, compliance, and a shared understanding of best practices across teams and geographies.

Drive continuous improvement, digitalization, and team support

  • Lead and support continuous improvement and automation initiatives in treasury operations and reporting by optimizing TMS processes, enhancing bank connectivity and data quality, and implementing digital tools that reduce manual workload and strengthen controls.
  • Support treasury operations in global projects, rollouts, and process implementations, collaborating across borders and functions to deliver consistent and scalable solutions.
  • Act as the Treasury Manager’s backup to ensure continuity of daily treasury operations, reporting, and stakeholder communication, demonstrating ownership, reliability, and a passion for challenge.
